Celebrate Lao History: Paint the "Land of a Million Elephants"

We extend our gratitude to all who participated in this month’s Cultural Workshop. With the support of Measure P and Fresno Arts Council, we continue to provide free, culturally-rooted arts programs that foster community connections through tradition, storytelling, and creativity.

This month, we celebrated the rich history of Laos, known as the "Land of a Million Elephants." This majestic name derives from the ancient kingdom of Lan Xang, reflecting the historical presence of large wild elephant herds and the kingdom's enduring power and grace.

We painted the iconic elephant, a symbol of strength, wisdom, and good fortune in Lao culture. These gentle giants are not only a reminder of our historical roots but also a powerful representation of resilience and community.
