We are a grassroots 501(C)3 non-profit organization founded in 2000 by concerned community members and leaders. Our mission is to empower families to achieve educational and socioeconomic success by fostering leadership skills, strong mentorship networks, and a vibrant arts and cultural heritage within the community.

Youth Empowering and Educational Programs
Annual Lao Educational Conference (ALEC), Fresno
Every spring, the Laotian American Community of Fresno (LACF) hosts a one-day conference at Fresno State for middle and high school students from the Central Valley. The goal of the conference is to empower and encourage students by teaching them about the importance of education and providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed. The one-day event features career, cultural, and educational workshops, as well as professional panel discussions and keynote speakers.
Scholarship Program
LACF offers and awards 10 Scholarship opportunities to college-student, annually. We believe in giving back to our community, encouraging and empowering our youth to pursue higher education. Since 2019, we have awarded more than $50,000 worth of scholarships.
Ambassador Program
LACF Ambassadors promote the fundamental values and principles aligned with Lao American Community of Fresno philosophies. As elite representatives of LACF, Ambassadors are dedicated to strengthening the Lao community, promoting education, and engaging with the Lao population. Ambassadors gain volunteer experience, professional development, and leadership skills.
Youth Summit
A program to support the introduction and preservation of Lao culture and language as well as learn about Lao American history. The program is targeting young children and introduces them to the Lao community's values and resources. It is a program for students to connect with one another, build a lifetime of friendships, and embrace our beautiful Lao culture and traditions.
