Community Banquet and Graduation Ceremony

The Laotian community in Fresno came together to celebrate the class of 2023, which include middle school, high school seniors and college graduates.
The banquet began with a cultural Lao dance, then followed with speeches from educators, leaders, and temple elders. The speakers congratulated the students who had graduated from 8th grade, high school, and higher education. They also spoke about the importance of embracing Lao culture and roots, relying on mentors for guidance, and staying involved with the community.
The banquet was a wonderful opportunity to unite together and celebrate our beautiful culture and strong community. It was also a chance to congratulate the students who had graduated and to encourage them to continue to be proud of their Lao heritage. Each graduate was awarded a gift bag and pabiang, a traditional Lao scarf.
