Community Banquet Celebrates Lao Graduates and Educators
The Laotian community in Fresno came together on Saturday for a banquet to celebrate the class of 2023. The banquet was held at Wat Lao Dhamma Sacca, and it was attended by over 80 people.
The banquet began with a cultural Lao dance, then followed with speeches from educators, leaders, and temple elders. The speakers congratulated the students who had graduated from 8th grade, high school, and higher education. They also spoke about the importance of embracing Lao culture and roots, relying on mentors for guidance, and staying involved with the community.
