Calling all 7th to 12th grade students! The 7th Annual Laotian-American Educational Conference (ALEC) is coming to Fresno State on May 23, 2025, and you’re invited to be part of this empowering day.

This year, we’re honored to host Sou Thammavongsa, a trailblazing healthcare professional, model, and Ms. Universe World International 2025! Her journey as the first Lao representative in global pageantry is a testament to the power of perseverance and pride in one’s roots.

How to Register

  • FUSD Students: Sign up through your school counselor or Cultural Director, and submit your permission slip.
  • FUSD counselor or personnel: Fill out registration form here.
  • Clovis, Central, or Sanger Students: Fill out the registration form here.

Theme: Power in the Present

Inspired by Lao-Canadian writer Souvankham Thammavongsa, this year’s theme celebrates the strength found in everyday resilience, creativity, and cultural identity.
